High School

The Balboa Yacht Club provides a fantastic venue for high school sailing. Our High School Sailing program invites students from eighth grade to twelfth grade to participate. We welcome students of all ability levels, from no experience to advanced.

BYC hosts practices each week in the school year for Mater Dei High School and San Clemente High School. Teams travel to regattas up and down the West Coast throughout the year as members of the Pacific Coast Interscholastic Sailing Association, the governing body of the West Coast and Hawaii for high school sailing. Practices begin in mid-September and continue through mid-April. Mater Dei High School practices Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, and San Clemente practices on Tuesday afternoons only.
