Pick-Up

Classes end at 3:o0pm. The coaches will be active with the sailors de-rigging, teaching, coming off the water, and/or debriefing until that time.

For the safety of all participants, we are implementing a strict pick-up protocol. During registration, one or two parents/guardians were listed as the primary contact. Those individuals will be automatically added to the approved pick-up list. Going forward, only those listed individuals will be allowed to pick up your sailor unless the list is updated. If someone outside of the approved list, such as a grandparent, nanny, or family friend, needs to pick up your sailor, you must email us in advance to request that they be added to the approved pick-up list.

Late Pick-Up Policy
• Under 15 minutes: No fee
• 15 to 30 minutes late: $15
• 30 to 45 minutes late: $30
• 45 to 60 minutes late: $45
• Over 1 hour: $60

Early Pick-Up

If you need an early pick-up, we are happy to accommodate. Please just reach out with enough notice so we can ensure your sailor is back on land and that sailing lessons are not affected.
Please also note that all sailors participate in derigging and cleaning the equipment after sailing. This is an important part of the program, as we work to build good habits around taking care of the equipment. For this reason, we kindly ask that early pick-ups are not used to avoid this part of the training.
  • Sea Urchins (Ages 6–7) – Introduction to sailing and seamanship.
  • Level 1 (Ages 8–10) – Sailing fundamentals, boat handling, and basic maneuvers. Sailors sail with a partner.
  • Level 2 – Solo sailing, upwind sailing, mastery of all points of sail, course sailing.
  • Level 3 – Race focused sailing including starts, courses, and introduction to race strategy & tactics

Parking
The BYC parking lot is reserved for members only. We also kindly ask you not to park on the commodore's parking spots even for a few minutes.

Street parking is available nearby and should be used for drop-off and pick-up. Please plan some extra time to park and walk your sailor to the check-in area.
