Sailing & Racing

For more than a century, Balboa Yacht Club has fostered a vibrant sailing tradition. Members enjoy everything from casual weeknight racing and one-design fleets to nationally recognized regattas and championship events. Whether you're looking to compete or simply enjoy an afternoon sail, there's a place for every sailor at BYC.

Cruising & Exploring

Discover Newport Harbor at your own pace. Members enjoy destination outings, social boating events, and access to Club amenities including Duffy boat rentals and harbor moorings. Whether it's a sunset cruise with friends or a weekend adventure, the water is always calling.

Angling

BYC's active angling community brings together members who share a passion for fishing. From friendly competitions and interclub tournaments to offshore adventures, anglers of every experience level are welcomed into a tradition that has been part of the Club for generations.

Junior Sailing

Our nationally recognized Junior Sailing Program introduces young sailors to the lifelong sport of sailing while developing confidence, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship. From first-time sailors to nationally competitive racers, Team BYC provides a pathway for every young sailor to grow both on and off the water.

Waterfront Amenities

Spending time on the water is easy with convenient access to a variety of Club amenities. Members can reserve Harbor 20 sailboats, an electric Duffy boat, paddleboards, and Club moorings, making it simple to enjoy Newport Harbor whenever the opportunity arises.

White's Cove

Escape to White’s Cove, BYC’s private Catalina Island outpost and a favorite destination for generations of members. Whether you’re spending the weekend on a mooring, gathering with friends and family, or simply enjoying a day on the island, White’s offers the perfect setting to relax, explore, and experience one of the most special parts of Club life.
